These pillows are all constructed by hand and sewn on a machine manned by me. Please be aware that slight variations are inherent in handmade goods and that repurposed denim is used, though I do not use stained or threadbare pieces in my work. What is your return policy?
I can only accept returns of items if they are defective in their construction. I make very few edits to and use no filters on the photos of the pillows so as to be able to represent their colors as accurately as possible. However, by the very nature of computer monitors and phone screens, colors may vary slightly. If you do indeed find a workmanship flaw with your pillow, please contact me within 3 days of receiving your pillow.

How should I care for my pillows?
Most information about the care of the pillows can be found in the product description. To truly preserve your pillow, dry cleaning is recommended. For the fish and whales, only spot cleaning.

Where does all of the denim come from?
Various places...some of it came from our closets, some from bags of jeans dropped off at my door. One of my favorite places to source denim is from The Madaket Mall, on Nantucket (which is technically the take-it-or-leave-it pile at the town dump. Yep.) On a few occasions I have had to thrift light colored jeans from Goodwill or other similar places, but I try not to purchase pants that could be worn by someone who needs them.

What type of closure do you use on your pillows?
I use a covered zipper method. This is not an invisible zipper...when the zipper is closed, there is a flap of fabric on either side that covers the zipper. Every now and again I like a pop of color to peek out between the flaps and you'll find your pillow has a lime green, or maybe a bright red zipper. Or maybe it just has a cream or navy one. All depends on my mood at the time. Zipper requests cannot be made on pillows that are currently on the site. If you are particular about your zipper color, you may message us to inquire about the color of one listed on the site, or you can request a pillow of similar style with your preferred color (manufacturing time will factor in to when you would receive your pillow).

They do not, but you can now purchase pillow inserts on the site.

What type of pillow insert do you recommend?
This is really a personal preference…some prefer a down pillow of some kind, which are nice and squishy and fill out the corners well. Then there are the poly-silk pillows which are nice because they are good and firm and don't clump or lose their shape like down does, thus requiring no fluffing. I have a local manufacturer that I use here in Colorado. If you can't find what you need, message us! We'll do our best to help you out.

You mention an 'us'...who else is there?
Well right now it's just me plugging away in my studio actually making the pillows. But any creative endeavor is never an entity unto itself, it takes the love support of family and friends. When problems arise or morale needs boosting, I am lucky to be able to call on some pretty amazing people to help me.
